Crab and Basil Linguine

Crab and Basil Linguine



  1. 400g dried linguine pasta
  2. 1 tbsp salt
  3. 1 tbsp olive oil
  4. 1 garlic clove, chopped
  5. 1 red chilli, deseeded and chopped
  6. 50g salted butter
  7. 2 lemons
  8. 150g pickled crab meat
  9. A handful of fresh basil
  10. 30g parmesan cheese
  11. Black pepper, to season


Step 1

First, place the pasta into a large pan of salted boiling water and cook for 9 minutes. 

Meanwhile, add a drizzle of olive oil into a non-stick frying pan and add the garlic and chilli. 

After 1 minute add the butter and gently melt. 

Step 2

Lift out 2-3 spoonfuls of the pasta water and place into the pan with the butter, as this water contains starch from the pasta, it will help bring the sauce together and make it creamy. 

Step 3

Now add the crab meat and lemon juice and stir together. 

Step 4

When the pasta is cooked, transfer the pasta straight into the sauce. 

Step 5

Stir together and finish with fresh basil, grated parmesan cheese and a little black pepper.
