A classic to make your matcha like a pro. Trust in Japan’s tea masters and ancient wisdom. Our matcha whisk de-clumps and froths matcha powder, and with 80 prong you’ll even faster.
Can you use a regular whisk for matcha?
Forks, spoons and metal whisks will never properly mix up the matcha—you will always have clumps, and you won’t get the original frothy and savoury taste that the bamboo whisk or ‘chasen’ (created specifically for matcha mixing) creates. It’s a must-have for preparing the best cup of matcha. The whisk with 80 prong will help you make your at-home matcha even faster!
How to whisk matcha?
- Place the whisk in hot water for a few seconds to loosen the strings to soften the bamboo each time before using the whisk.
- Put 1 teaspoon of matcha (1g) in the matcha bowl
- Pour warm water (80 degrees) into the bowl
- Whisk the powder in a W-motion (or M-motion) for 20 seconds, enjoy!
Pro tip: don’t scrape the whisk across the bottom of the bowl.
After each use, rinse with cold water and let it dry on the whisk holder. Make sure to never put your whisk in the dishwasher or use soap to clean it, as it can extremely damage the bamboo whisk.
